Biodynamic Energies

By sidestepping the typical preconception that light makes chlorophyll plants grow, biodynamic farmers and gardeners realize that other energies contribute to a plant’s growth.

Because of the differences in these contributing energies, planting a crop one day will be different than planting it another day, or during certain moon cycle days.

In biodynamic farming, the grower sees the farm as a self-contained organism. Emphasis is placed on the integration of crops and livestock, recycling nutrients, soil & water storage maintenance, and the well-being of all who work there.

The farmer’s ecosystem further includes a series of holistic management practices that addresses all environmental, social, and financial aspects.

Fog Harp

Fog water harvesting is useful for passively collecting fresh water. Net/Mesh‐based harvesters are compromised by poor drainage. Fog harp’s array of vertical wires enables an unobstructed drainage pathway. A 1 m² frame fog harp is fabricated by winding a SS wire around a spinning Alu frame featuring threaded rods.

Even under light fog conditions, the fog harp collects several 100 ml water/day, while the mesh collects nothing at all. Hydrophilic wires with lubricated microgrooves will collect even a lot more water.
