Ego in Here & Now?
Can the Ego operate in the Here & Now?
The Ego will treat the “NOW”
in one of three ways:
- as a means to an end,
- as an obstacle,
- as an enemy,
(1) The Ego promises to get you to some future moment that is considered better than the Here & NOW. As the future can never become the Now, you are never Here and always trying to get There.
(2) The Ego treats the NOW as an obstacle to overcome, resulting in impatience, frustration, and stress. The Ego sees Life, the NOW, as a problem that needs to be fixed, before it is happy, or start really living. A universal law of Life is called Attraction. It says: ” I’ll be whatever you want me to be: See me as a problem, I’ll be a problem to you.”
(3) Hate what you’re doing? When you complain about what happened or is happening, or things should or shouldn’t, you argue with WHAT IS. You make Life into an enemy. Then Life says: “War is what you want, war is what you get.”
The question “What is my relationship with Life?” will unmask the Ego and shift you into the State of Presence.
