Qinglong era Manchu bows differ from earlier ones in a number of important ways:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. The most obvious way is that the Manchu bow is the largest bow in the family of Asian recurves. <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Manchu bows have longer \u201cears\u201d and string bridges.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  3. This allowed for the Manchu archers to:<\/span><\/span>\n

    1. use a heavier, longer arrow, <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    2. while also acting as levers that enabled them to pull a heavier draw bow.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      A set of etchings was commissioned by Emperor Qianlong<\/span><\/a> to record in pictorial terms the courage of his generals and soldiers in quelling the rebellions in the Western Regions. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
