Adrian Dorber, dean of Lichfield Cathedral, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/08\/13\/world\/europe\/uk-norwich-cathedral.html\"><span style=\"color: #ffd700;\">various initiatives<\/span><\/a> to shore that up are not \u201ccheap marketing tricks\u201d but rather decisions \u201cmade out of serious pastoral concerns.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"6px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">\u201cWe are trying to connect people with the transcendent, knowing that most people have given up on it. I think the raid we can make on people\u2019s consciousness and the way we can help people into some kind of relationship with a sacred building or sacred space should be stimulated.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"6px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">The hallowed nave of a <span style=\"color: #ffd700;\">medieval<\/span> church, with its stained glass windows and soaring arches, is usually thought of as a place for prayer, or connection to the <a href=\"https:\/\/aboutyou.name\/index.php?id=871\"><span style=\"color: #ffd700;\">cosmic consciousness<\/span><\/a>, or just quiet reflection, but it can also be a place for a slide many stories tall.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/userfiles\/image\/2019-pics\/Norwich-cathedral-slide.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"333\" height=\"188\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"6px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Inside Norwich Cathedral, a colorful, 55-ft tall slide winds past the 900 year old stone pillars. Visitors get a new perspective on the ornate ceilings.
