It was one of the wealthiest and most popular military orders in Western Christianity.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"6px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">One of the purposes of creating the Order of the Temple was to protect pilgrims to and from Jerusalem. They traveled from all over Europe and faced various dangers and assaults on the way, so the Order of the Temple created letters of credit, by allowing pilgrims to deposit values at the trip&#8217;s origin, then collect them safely upon their return or elsewhere. Thus, the Templars were the first \u201cbankers\u201d in the world!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"6px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">In <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Flag_of_Portugal#\"><span style=\"color: #ffd700;\">Portugal<\/span><\/a>, the knowledge, habits, richness, and lands of the Order of the Temple were inherited by instruction of King Dinis, by the Order of Christ:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/userfiles\/image\/2024-pics\/Code%20of%20arms%20Portugal.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"173\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"6px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Following their spiritual\/cosmological impulses, 9 knights discovered the Nasorean Scrolls, revealing treasures far beyond their wildest dreams. Yet, those were treasures they could not share with the world at that time:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"6px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Many of the Knights Templar were Master Stone masons, designing and building formidable castles, cathedrals, and chapels across Europe. They introduced holy geometry into their Gothic masterpieces, like Chartres Cathedral in France.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"6px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20141123145145\/http:\/\/www3.nd.edu\/Departments\/Maritain\/etext\/hwp212.htm\"><span style=\"color: #ffd700;\">The Medieval Cathedral and School of Chartres<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"6px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Many Gothic Cathedrals across Europe, show the names of master builders responsible for their construction and design. They would cut their names into floors or walls, for they wanted future generations to know who they were.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/userfiles\/image\/2020-pics\/Proportion%20Only.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"59\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"6px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">When we stand back and look at the magnificent Chartres Gothic Cathedral, with its exquisite carvings standing proud for all to see and admire such works\u2026 one has to ask who these architects and builders were.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"6px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Following metaphysical impulses, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=aPqGly7KlQ4\"><span style=\"color: #ffd700;\">Knights Templar<\/span><\/a> sought the \u201cArk of the Covenant\u201d, a wooden box overlaid with gold, containing stone tablets, inscribed with 10 Commandments, that was supposedly buried under Solomon\u2019s Temple in Jerusalem. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/userfiles\/image\/2020-pics\/Sacred-coffin.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"277\" height=\"214\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"6px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">French architect, Louis Charpentier, claims that the Knights Templar built Chartres Cathedral as a repository for ancient wisdom. As men of the Christ, they would not want their names cut into the stone of Chartres, just their cross:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/userfiles\/image\/2019-pics\/Templar%20Cross.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"181\" height=\"172\" \/>\u00a0\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/userfiles\/image\/2019-pics\/Cross%20Pattee.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"182\" height=\"172\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"6px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">In 1128, the <a href=\"?p=3009\"><span style=\"color: #ffd700;\">Knights Templar<\/span><\/a> appear to have <span style=\"color: #ffd700;\">brought back from Jerusalem<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ffd700;\">extraordinary initiatory documents<\/span> for the Cistercian Bernard de Clairvaux:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/userfiles\/image\/2024-pics\/Templars-architekt.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"222\" height=\"213\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"6px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">It led to 150 years of cosmologically inspired and dedicated cathedral building: the architect sketching with compass, set square, and ruler, the essential elements and their proportions. The master builder <a href=\"?p=3023\"><span style=\"color: #ffd700;\">taking it<\/span><\/a> from there:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/userfiles\/image\/2024-pics\/Phi-waves.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"66\" height=\"66\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/userfiles\/image\/2019-pics\/T-Cross-positions.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"277\" height=\"223\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ffd700;\"><strong><span style=\"2px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">3+3 Templar crosses surround the <a href=\"?p=790\"><span style=\"color: #ffd700;\">labyrinth<\/span><\/a> in Chartres<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; 6px;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Knights_Templar\"><span style=\"color: #ffd700;\">Order of the Temple<\/span><\/a> warehoused, financed, bought, and became exceedingly rich in lands, cash and credit. All was organized in the public interest. They protected merchants and the movement of goods from robbers and grand seigneurs. Their dwellings were a sort of police station. The Knights Templar were probably financing many projects, because they also knew how to make the alchemical gold.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"6px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">They undermined the existing feudal system so much that French King Philippe Le Bell had their properties confiscated, but before that happened most Templar knights had moved their treasures and themselves to their safe-haven\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Convent_of_Christ_(Tomar)\"><span style=\"color: #ffd700;\">European headquarters<\/span><\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tomar\"><span style=\"color: #ffd700;\">Tomar, Portugal<\/span><\/a>, where they changed their order&#8217;s name to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/History_of_the_Order_of_Christ\"><span style=\"color: #ffd700;\">the Order of Christ<\/span><\/a>, to avoid further damage.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"6px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">The remainder of them were tortured to death or burnt alive, 716 years ago, on Friday, October 13, 1307, in France:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/userfiles\/image\/2022-pics\/friday-oct-13.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"222\" height=\"170\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WZok8To8fP8\" width=\"280\" height=\"155\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ffd700;\"><span style=\"6px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><strong><span style=\"text-align: start;\">Knights Templar Headquarters in Tomar:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/userfiles\/image\/2022-pics\/Castelo_dos_Templa\u0301rios_e_Convento_de_Cristo,Tomar,_Portugal.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"333\" height=\"175\" \/><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"2px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"color: #ffd700;\">Rotunda church, Tomar castle, built around 1160:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/userfiles\/image\/2022-pics\/CoC.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"114\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"6px;\">From the outside, the church is a 16-side polygonal structure, with strong buttresses, round windows and a bell-tower.
