I AM Perfect Consciousness<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I was sent forth from the power,<\/strong><\/span>
\nand I have come to those
\nwho reflect upon me,<\/span>
\nand I have been found among those
\nwho seek after me.<\/span>
\nLook upon me, you who reflect upon me,
\nand you hearers, hear me.<\/span>
\nYou who are waiting for me,
\ntake me to yourselves.<\/span>
\nAnd do not banish me from your sight.<\/span>
\nAnd do not make your voice hate me,
\nnor your hearing.<\/span>
\nDo not be ignorant of me
\nanywhere or any time.<\/span>
\nBe on your guard! Do not be ignorant of me.<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For I am the first and the last. <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\nI am the honored one and the scorned one.<\/span>
\nI am the harlot and the holy one.<\/span>
\nI am the wife and the virgin.<\/span>
\nI am the mother and the daughter.<\/span>
\nI am the members of my mother.<\/span>
\nI am the barren one and many are my sons.<\/span>
\nI am she whose weddings are great,<\/span>
\nand I have not taken a husband.<\/span>
\nI am the one who bears<\/span>
\nand who does not bear.<\/span>
\nI am the solace of my labor pains.<\/span>
\nI am the bride and the bridegroom,<\/span>
\nand it is my husband who begot me.<\/span>
\nI am the mother of my father<\/span>
\nand the sister of my husband<\/span>
\nand he is my offspring.<\/span>
\nI am the slave of him who prepared me.<\/span>
\nI am the governess of my offspring.<\/span>
\nBut he is the one who begot me<\/span>
\nbefore the time on a birthday.<\/span>
\nAnd he is my offspring in (due) time,<\/span>
\nand my power is from him.<\/span>
\nI am the staff of his power in his youth,<\/span>
\nand he is the rod of my old age.<\/span>
\nAnd whatever he wills happens to me.<\/span>
\nI am the silence that is incomprehensible<\/span>
\nand the thought<\/span>
\nwhose remembrance is frequent.<\/span>
\nI am the voice whose sound is polyphonic<\/span>
\nand the LOGOS<\/span>
\nwhose appearance is manifold.<\/span>
\nI am the utterance of my name.<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Why, you who hate me, do you love<\/a> me,
\nand hate those who love me?
\nYou who deny me, confess me,
\nand you who confess me, deny me.
\nYou who speak the truth about me,
\nlie about me,
\nand you who have lied about me,
\nspeak the truth about me.
\nYou who know me, be ignorant of me,
\nand those who have not known me,
\nlet them know me.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For I am knowledge and ignorance.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>
\nI am shame and boldness.<\/span>
\nI am shameless; I am ashamed.<\/span>
\nI am strength and I am fear.<\/span>
\nI am war and peace. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Give heed to me. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>
\nI am the disgraced and the exalted one.<\/span>
\nGive heed to my poverty and my wealth.<\/span>
\nDo not be arrogant to me<\/span>
\nwhen I am cast out upon the earth,<\/span>
\nand you will find me<\/span>
\nin those that are to come.<\/span>
\nAnd do not look upon me on the dung-heap<\/span>
\nnor go and leave me discarded,<\/span>
\nAnd you will find me in the kingdoms.<\/span>
\nAnd do not look upon me<\/span>
\nlying cast among the disgraced<\/span>
\nand in the least places, nor laugh at me.<\/span>
\nAnd do not cast me out among those<\/span>
\nwho are coldheartedly slain.<\/span>
\nBut I, I am merciful and I am merciless.<\/span>
\nBe on your guard!<\/span>
\nDo not hate my obedience<\/span>
\nand do not love my self-control.<\/span>
\nIn my weakness, do not forsake me,<\/span>
\nand do not be afraid of my power.<\/span>
\nFor why do you despise my fear<\/span>
\nand curse my pride?<\/span>
\nI am she who exists in all fears<\/span>
\nand boldness in trembling.<\/span>
\nI am she who is weak,<\/span>
\nand I am well in a pleasant place.<\/span>
\nI am foolish and I am wise.<\/span>
\nWhy have you hated me in your counsels?<\/span>
\nFor I shall be silent<\/span>
\namong those who are silent,<\/span>
\nand I shall appear and speak,<\/span>
\nWhy then have you hated me, you Greeks?<\/span>
\nBecause I am a barbarian<\/span>
\namong the barbarians?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For I am the wisdom of the Greeks <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>
\nand the gnosis of the barbarians.<\/span><\/strong>
\nI am the judgment of<\/span>
\nthe Greeks and the barbarians.<\/span>
\nI am the one whose image is great in Egypt<\/span>
\nand the one<\/span>
\nwho has no image among the barbarians.<\/span>
\nI am the one<\/span>
\nwho has been hated everywhere<\/span>
\nand who has been loved everywhere.<\/span>
\nI am the one whom they call Life,<\/span>
\nand you have called Death.<\/span>
\nI am the one whom they call Law,<\/span>
\nand you have called Lawlessness.<\/span>
\nI am the one whom you have pursued,<\/span>
\nand I am the one whom you have seized.<\/span>
\nI am the one whom you have scattered,<\/span>
\nand you have gathered me together.<\/span>
\nI am the one<\/span>
\nfor whom you have been ashamed,<\/span>
\nand you have been shameless to me.<\/span>
\nI am she who does not observe festivals,<\/span>
\nand I am she whose festivals are many.<\/span>
\nI, I am godless,<\/span>
\nand I am the one whose God is great.<\/span>
\nI am the one whom you have reflected upon,<\/span>
\nand you have scorned me.<\/span>
\nI am unlearned, but they do learn from me.<\/span>
\nI am the one whom you have despised,<\/span>
\nand upon whom you reflect.<\/span>
\nI am the one whom you have hidden from,<\/span>
\nand you appear before me.<\/span>
\nBut whenever you hide yourselves,<\/span>
\nI myself will appear.<\/span>
\nFor whenever you appear,<\/span>
\nI myself will hide from you\u2026.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

And take me to yourselves from places
\nthat are disgraced and in ruin,
\nand rob from those which are good even though in disgrace.
\nOut of shame,
\ntake me to yourselves shamelessly;
\nand out of shamelessness and shame,
\nrebuke my members in yourselves.
\nAnd come to me, you who know me
\nand you who know my members,
\nand establish the great ones
\namong the small first creatures.
\nCome forward to childhood,
\nand do not despise it
\nbecause it is small and it is little.
\nAnd do not turn away the greatness
\nin some parts of the smallness,
\nfor it is from greatness
\nthat smallness is recognized. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Why do you curse me and honor me?<\/span>
\nYou have wounded and you have had mercy.<\/span>
\nDo not separate me<\/span>
\nfrom the 1st ones whom you have known.<\/span>
\nDo not cast anyone out<\/span>
\nnor turn anyone away<\/span>
\nI know the first ones and<\/span>
\nthose after them know me.<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But I AM perfect consciousness <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>
\nI am the gnosis of my research,<\/span>
\nand the finding of those who search for me,<\/span>
\nand the command of those who ask of me,<\/span>
\nand the power of the powers
\nin my gnosis of the angels,<\/span>
\nwho have been sent by my word (logos),<\/span>
\nand of gods among gods by my counsel,<\/span>
\nand of spirits of every man
\nwho exists with me,<\/span>
\nand of women who dwell within me.<\/span>
\nI am the one who is honored,
\nand who is praised,<\/span>
\nand who is despised scornfully.<\/span>
\nI am peace,
\nand war has come because of me.<\/span>
\nAnd I am an alien and a citizen.<\/span>
\nI am the substance and
\nthe one who has no substance.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Those who have no bonding with me
\nare ignorant of me, and<\/span>
\nthose who are in my substance
\nare the ones who know me.<\/span>
\nThose who are close to me
\nhave been ignorant of me,<\/span>
\nand those who are far away from me
\nhave known me.<\/span>
\nOn the day that I am close to you,<\/span>
\nyou are far away from me,<\/span>
\nand on the day that I am far away from you,<\/span>
\nI am close to you.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I am the control and the uncontrollable. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>
\n
\nI am the union and the dissolution.<\/span>
\nI am the staying and I am the going<\/span>
\nI am the one below,
\nand they come up to me.<\/span>
\nI am the judgment and the acquittal.<\/span>
\nI, I am sinless,
\nand the root of sin derives from me.<\/span>
\nIn my appearance I am lust,<\/span>
\nand within me exists self-control.<\/span>
\nI am the hearing
\nwhich is attainable to everyone<\/span>
\nand the speech which cannot be grasped.<\/span>
\nI am a mute who does not speak,<\/span>
\nand great is my multitude of words.<\/span>
\nHear me in gentleness,
\nand learn of me in harshness.<\/span>
\nI am she who cries out,<\/span>
\nand I am cast forth
\nupon the face of the earth.<\/span>
\nI prepare the bread and my consciousness.<\/span>
\nI am the gnosis of my name.<\/span>
\nI am the one who cries out, and who listens.<\/span>
\nI am the one who is called Truth and Iniquity. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

You honor me and you whisper against me.<\/span>
\nYou who are defeated, judge them<\/span>
\nbefore they pass judgment against you,<\/span>
\nbecause the judge and partiality exist in you.<\/span>
\nIf you are condemned
\nby them, who will acquit you?<\/span>
\nOr, if you are acquitted by them,<\/span>
\nwho will be able to detain you?<\/span>
\nFor what is inside of you
\nis also outside of you,<\/span>
\nand the one
\nwho fashions you on the outside<\/span>
\nis the one
\nwho shaped the inside of you.<\/span>
\nAnd what you see outside of you,<\/span>
\nyou see inside of you;<\/span>
\nit is visible and it is your garment.<\/span>
\nHear me, you hearers<\/span>
\nand learn of my words, you who know me.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I am the hearing
\nthat is attainable to everyone;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>
\n
\nI am the speech that cannot be grasped.<\/span>
\nI am the name of the sound<\/span>
\nand the sound of my name.<\/span>
\nI am the meaning of the text<\/span>
\nAnd I will speak his name.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Look then at his words
\nand all the writings
\nwhich have been completed.
\nGive heed then, you hearers,
\nand you also, angels
\nand those who have been sent,
\nand you spirits
\nwho have arisen from the dead.
\nFor I am the one who alone exists,
\nand I have no one who will judge me.
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For many are the attractive forms<\/span>
\nthat exist in numerous sins:<\/span>
\nand unrestrained acts,<\/span>
\nand disgraceful passions,<\/span>
\nand fleeting pleasures<\/span>
\nwhich (men) embrace
\nuntil they become sober,<\/span>
\nand go up to their resting place<\/span>
\nAnd there they will find me,<\/span><\/span><\/span>
\nand they will live, and never die again.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
