In order to better understand the basic ingredients and the ‘cooking conditions’ of the cosmos, from cosmic day one till today, particle physicists are trying to reverse-engineer the ‘universal soup’. Within this complex concoction, cryptic clues hide the instructions for the cosmic recipe.
Both stars and humans are made of the same type of atoms, hydroxen, helium, carbon, oxygen and iron, which have been continuously ‘cooked’ in the hearts of old stars that were transformed into a supernova with a big bang.
Astrophysical observations showed that all matter is only 4% of the entire Universe. Humans, planets, stars, and galaxies do NOT define the Universe. It is the darkness of “nothingness” surrounding them!
This nothingness is a mystery, but within this darkness lay exciting possibilities of a new physics beyond the Standard Model.
