BREATHING WELL

BELLY BREATHING

May I suggest you start with ‘breathing through the belly’? Let’s practice this a few times:

  1. Stand up and shake arms and hands a few times.
  2. Put one hand on your chest and one on your belly.
  3. Slowly inhale through your nose or your pursed lips.
  4. Push your stomach and then your chest out.
  5. Hold the breath in for a moment.
  6. Release the air slowly.
  7. Relax your chest and rib cage.
  8. Force the remaining breath out by pulling your belly in.
  9. Repeat the complete exercise while sitting in a chair.
  10. Repeat the exercise while laughing out loud.
  11. Notice a decrease in stress and increase in energy?
