Aspects of Attention
with regard to
the Matters at Hand #II

Managers who care about their scarcest plus potentially richest resources might consider the use of:

  • education.
  • ways to assess,
  • Attention-getting techniques,
  • controls to limit volume of information,
  • protection against useless information.

More information requires more delegation. The ability to prioritize information, to focus and reflect on it, and to exclude irrelevant data has now become very critical.

Attention Bandwidth has to do with how much of your total Attention energy is used by your senses focusing at some thing versus how much is used by “programs” consciously or unconsciously running in the back of your mind.

From a computer’s viewpoint:

How much of your RAM (Random Access Memory) Attention quantum bits is taken up by sub-routines -programs running in the background- and thereby inhibiting your current actions?

Sub-routines are like background noises that direct Attention Bandwidth away from what you are trying to focus on. It can be felt as feelings of resistance to what you focus on.

Pain-Catchers operate like sub-routines because they can only react or respond to a command or a prompt coming from one of our senses.

When you direct attention particles toward some-thing, you perceive that object directly, by feeling it, or indirectly via a reflection that stimulates nerves in one or more sensory organs and is translated into a mental replica of the object. Indirect perception creates consciousness + a sense of consecutive moments in time. Direct perception, everything exists…
