FINAL THOUGHTS

FINAL THOUGHTS of Mr Levine
in ‘Waking the Tiger’

I must confess that the miracles of healing I have seen, make it hard to deny the existence of an innate natural wisdom whose laws provide order in the universe.

Any organism, subject to these laws, tracks its way thru the most horrific experiences imaginable. How can that be if there is no god, no wisdom, no tiger in the universe?

Many people who worked through traumatic reactions told me that there is now a new animalistic [naturalistic] and spiritual dimension to their lives. They feel more spontaneous and less inhibited in expressing a healthy assertion and joy.

They more readily identify with being a dweller in nature. At the same time, they perceive themselves as having become more human. When trauma is transformed, one of the gifts of healing is a childlike awe and reverence for life.

When overwhelmed by trauma, and then rebound, we become awed by the natural laws in force. In loosing our ‘innocence’, we can gain wisdom, and in the process of gaining wisdom, we gain a new innocence.

The instinctual organism does not sit in judgment. It only does what it does.

Our final thoughts about Peter Levine’s Final Thoughts are:

“All you have to do is to tell that part of you that resists to get out of the way.”
