Natural Power
A martial artist works with the innate intelligence of the body which allows full access to all its inherent strengths, as well as harmonizing its movements with the great natural forces, such as gravity, to which we are all subject.
The force that we are capable of generating when we are completely relaxed and aligned with those natural forces could be referred to as “natural power” or Qi in Chinese.
“Natural” because it is generated without strain, and because it is power created in harmony with the body’s design.
If the above holds true then the basic movements in martial arts should be based upon the principles of true balance and natural power to remove you quickly and effortlessly from the threat of harm.
A system with a wide variety of techniques can be created with true balance, natural power, and maximum efficiency in application as the 3 foundation stones.
