Essential Amino Acids?

Amino acids make up 75% of the human body. They are essential to nearly every bodily function. Every chemical reaction that takes place in our body depends on amino acids and the proteins that they build.

The human body simply does not store amino acids for later use, as it does with fats and starches. Thus, the essential amino acids must be ingested every day. Failure to do so can result in protein degradation.

More than 300 amino acids have been found in the natural world, from micro-organisms to meteorites.

A famous essential amino acid is tryptophan. It strengthens the immune system, helps in producing serotonin, induces normal sleep, and reduces anxiety, depression, and artery spasm risk.

The amino acids necessary for normal functioning of the human body are classified in 2 simple groups:
