Candida Containment

Candida is very cunning, enigmatic, complicated, and involves many different factors. Of the more than 200 species of Candida, the one responsible for most infections and most prevalent, is Candida Albicans. The second most common is Candida Glabrata followed by Candida Tropicalis, Candida Parapsilosis, Candida Auris, and Candida Krusei, etc., etc.

Within each species of Candida there are numerous different strains. For example, there is C. Parapsilosis strain PA/71 or P92 or C. Albicans strain M61 or SC5314, C. Glabrata BG14, C. Tropicalis 1230, a.s.o.

Candida Auris

Candida auris is an emerging multi-drug resistant fungus which grows as yeast and acts like a bacteria. It is one of the few superbugs of the Candida genus that causes candidiasis in humans. It is acquired in hospitals by patients with weakened immune systems. We live in a world covered under antibiotics. Therefore, we urgently need to look for non-synthetic solutions, such as living enzymes?

To complicate things further, an individual may harbor more than one species or strain simultaneously and the species and strains may change over time. Different species and different strains within the same species respond differently to individual antifungals. What works for one species, may not necessarily work for another species or even a different strain within the same species.

Testing for Candida Albicans

The most complete test is testing samples of your saliva, urine, stool, and blood. The bloodtest results should show up in .. U/ml (Units/ml) of IgA, IgG, and IgM antibodies.

For IgG 0-30 U/ml is normal. For IgM 0-10 U/ml is normal. Elevated levels indicate a Candida infection.

IgM antibodies indicate a recent infection. IgG a current/past infection. IgA an infection of mucous membranes.

How to treat Candida overgrowth?

To successfully treat Candida, you need to do 5 things:

  1. Stop the yeast overgrowth, via a Paleolithic diet,
  2. Build up the friendly bacteria,
  3. Heal your gut, by a drastic change in diet and lifestyle,
  4. Prevent die-off intoxication,
  5. Release all remnants of trauma, both small and large.

1. Sugar is what feeds yeast. To kill Candida overgrowth you should substantially shrink the size of your shady & slimy, snakelike Sugarcraving Self soon by:

  • fully eliminating sugars, starches, and carbohydrates in all forms as well as all fermented foods,
  • using natural anti-fungal products such as caprylic- and lauric acid from coconut oil, ricinoleic acid from castor oil, Iodine, glycerinebaking soda, blue light, and raw ACV. Some will attract certain T-cells that will “poke holes” in yeast cells’ walls, causing them to die.

2. Take probiotics and prebiotics daily to reduce Candida levels and restore your levels of good bacteria.

3. Eliminate inflammatory foods that will harm your GI tract and introduce foods that will dramatically improve your overall health, by preventing Candida fungi from working their way through your body.

4. Die-off occurs when too many candida yeast cells are dying, thus overwhelming the body with their toxic micro organisms. This can incite a flare in existing symptoms, new symptoms, and liver overburn.

5. Follow a detox diet.

Anti-Fungals That Will Fight Your Candida

Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is one of the most potent antifungals there is. It contains Lauric acid and Caprylic acid, which both help prevent Candida overgrowth and strengthen your immune system. Coconut oil is very heat stable, so it’s an ideal oil to use for frying and cooking. It has a much longer shelf life than other oils! Take 2-3 tablespoons/day.

Garlic
Garlic will also preserve and boost the good bacteria in your digestive system. It has a potent detoxifying effect on liver and colon. Use it liberally, by cutting/chopping it freshly so as to acquire the active ingredient that kills pathogens

Onions
Onions have strong anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-parasitic properties. They help flush excess fluids from the body. Counter the smell by adding parsley.

Seaweed, Kelp
They are a nutrient-dense healing food, rich in Iodine. Good for balancing the thyroid gland. It flushes toxic pollutants & heavy metals, and cleanses the intestinal tract.

Rutabaga / Turnip
Have very strong antifungal properties.

Ginger
Ginger increases circulation and detoxifies the liver, besides stimulating the immune and digestive system. It helps reduce intestinal gas and any inflammation in the intestinal tract.

Olive Oil
Olive oil contains a plant chemical named Oleuropein, which contains powerful anti-fungal properties and stimulates the immune system response to Candida. Extra-virgin olive oil appears to help stabilize blood sugar levels.

Lemon and Lime Juice
Lemon/lime juice stimulates the peristaltic action of your colon. Great seasoning.

Pumpkin Seeds
They will give the body an Omega-3 boost.

Cayenne Pepper
Cayenne pepper supports the digestive system and immune system, helps digest food, and reduces constipation by cleansing the bowel of Candida and other toxins. It also increases metabolism and circulation, reducing thereby symptoms of fatigue.

Glycerin or Glycerol
Glycerin attracts water. When applied to the skin, it seals in moisture that might otherwise escape. Thus, glycerin helps maintain the skin’s water balance on an intercellular level. The fact that glycerin can have a therapeutic effect on wounds and other skin diseases also contributes to the skin looking healthier and smoother. It is an emollient, making the skin not only moist, but soft and supple to the touch.

Castor oil (cold pressed)
Castor oil is a triglyceride, consisting for 90% of ricinoleic acid, which has anti-inflammatory properties. Reduces joints and tissues swelling, inflammation.

Thyme Oil
Thyme Oil has many properties such as antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiviral, bactericidal, and parasiticide. As thymol, it is a phenolic compound, that has both hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties, which may enhance diffusion of this compound in a biofilm and allows access to fungal cells where it alters the permeability of plasma membranes. Cleans internal organs and the bloodstream of unwanted microbes.

Eucalyptus Oil
Eucalyptus Oil properties are analgesic, antibacterial, antifungal, antineuralgic, antirheumatic, antiseptic, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory. Reducing inflammation is important. It allows the body to spend its energies fighting Candida overgrowth rather than fighting the inflammation caused by the fungus, including swelling in the mouth, vaginal irritation, and the symptoms of IBS – all common effects of yeast overgrowth. But beyond reducing inflammation, eucalyptus oil has been found to have direct antifungal effects against 11 out of 12 fungal species, including Aspergillus fumigatus, Cryptococcus neoformans (a potentially dangerous yeast that can cause lung infections and fungal meningitis) and a significant reduction in Candida albicans concentration in liver+kidney homogenates.

Essential Oil, steam distilled from the leaves of the Tea Tree

Tea Tree Oil
Its properties (5% essential tea tree oil, 95% olive oil) are antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, anti-parasitic, antiseptic, antiviral, decongestant, fungicidal, and immune stimulant. These properties make it a perfect remedy for Candida.

Pine Tree Oil
Distilling pine resin from pine trees gives essential oils as a concentrated natural medicine, such as turpentine. One drop hidden in a sugar cube or spoonful of glucose like honey acts as the perfect ‘Trojan Horse’. For arthritis, use 1 part turpentine and 2 parts castor/olive/coconut oil. Start taking turpentine just twice a week then work towards taking it on a day on / day off protocol. Take plenty of breaks from this protocol because this regimen kills a large range of pathogens including parasites, candida, bacteria, viruses, etc. Take it with castor oil when treating pathogens and candida in the intestinal tract, as castor oil coats the digestive tract and helps to spread the pine oil. Its laxative effect helps the body eliminate the pathogens that the turpentine is killing off.

Lavender Oil
Lavender Oil is antibacterial, antidepressant, antimicrobial, antirheumatic, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and stimulant. Use it as a yeast infection treatment for skin and nail fungus and to help with acne, allergies, asthma, colds, cough, depression, earache, eczema, flatulence, headache, hypertension, indigestion, infection, inflammations, psoriasis, rashes, rheumatism, slow digestion, sore muscles, teething, toothache, ulcers.

To prevent Candida from mutating, adapting, and becoming resistant to a particular herb, nutrient, drug, etc., change or alternate your antifungals and treatment strategies once a week. This exposes the yeast to varying types of attack, until these cells give up and die.

Products & Foods to avoid

  • processed foods – these have a lot of refined sugar and flour, preservatives, additives,
  • all chemicals and all products (bread) derived from yeasts or similar organisms,
  • steroids, or residual antibiotics will worsen your symptoms of Candida overgrowth,
  • smoked meats, aged/fermented/moldy cheeses create acidity in the intestinal tract, encouraging Candida overgrowth,
  • wheat, rye, barley, oats contain gluten, which your body converts to sugar, the food for Candida,
  • pastries and pasta made with gluten-containing flour and/or yeast,
  • beer, wine, spirits, as they all convert to high sugar,
  • caffeine, tea, chocolate have a stimulating effect which gives a boost to Candida yeast,
  • mushrooms are fungi, which Candida loves to feed on,
  • most nuts, peanuts, peanut butter since they are typically contaminated with mold,
  • sugar, honey, maple syrup, agave syrup are obvious Candida feeders,
  • fresh, canned, frozen, dried fruits and fruit juice are all high in sugars,
  • pickles and all products containing vinegar, as these foods create an acidic medium in the gut, and acidity favors Candida overgrowth,
  • mayonnaise, ketchup, commercial dressings, all contain vinegar.
  • starchy or sweet vegetables, such as potatoes, corn, yams, squash (zucchini is OK), beans, peas, carrots, beets, as they all convert to sugar during digestion.
  • The starch of cooked+cooled potatoes is OK, because it is not digestable.
